Inside the project RISTIQ

Operational software / Restaurants

The order changes hands. Its context needs to follow.

Menu, front of house, kitchen and till in one workflow: RISTIQ brings systems integration to the daily work of a restaurant.

The problem I start with

An order moves between the table, waiter, kitchen, printers and till. Along the way, choices, timings and bills change. The challenge is more than building separate screens: each handover needs to preserve the right information, and service on the local network needs to continue without an Internet connection.

My contribution

With RISTIQ, I apply my work in architecture and integration to a setting beyond the industrial plant. I guide technical direction with attention to the whole journey: from the menu a guest reads to the order, preparation and bill.

The decisions that shape the project

  1. A server in the restaurant

Tablets, waiter handhelds, kitchen screens, management and printing work on the restaurant network. This choice places continuity of operational service at the heart of the architecture.

  2. Make menu rules explicit

The multilingual photo menu includes declared allergens and rules for variations, dishes sold by weight and half-and-half pizzas. The AI assistant refers to the restaurant’s own menu.

  3. Handle what happens after ordering

Split bills, shifts, takings, a persistent print queue, menu versions and operation logs belong to the same workflow.

The journey in four steps

  1. MenuDishes, information and choices
  2. ServiceTablets and waiter handhelds
  3. KitchenOrders, display and printing
  4. TillSplit bills, shifts and takings

What takes shape

RISTIQ is presented with a demo available on request. The described system connects restaurant workstations to a local server and includes menus, orders, a kitchen display, print management and the till. The image shows a demonstration menu on a tablet: an entry point into a workflow that continues behind the scenes.

Status and scope

POS terminals and fiscal cash registers require integration during installation and are simulated in the demo. Local network operation does not imply that every AI feature works offline or that every device is already integrated.

Editorial status checked against the official pages on 12 October 2026.
